Oil is generally used when there is no availability of natural gas and is commonly used in rural churches. In general oil burning boilers have a lower combustion efficiency than gas and need more regular maintenance. It is necessary for someone to check and order the fuel and the fuel has to be stored safely. The price of oil can be volatile and there is a risk of theft of the fuel in more remote locations.
